Funkeys Images FINALLY Showing Up From ToyFair 2009
All I can say is "it's about time!" The coverage of the NY ToyFair has been miserable this year so far. Hopefully more people have been taking pictures and still plan to post them. As has been swirling through the various U.B.Funkeys Blogs, Figures.com has posted some images from the Radica booth including Funkeys and the new F.A.M.P.S figures. YOu can check them all out here... I have to admit that while the stuff on display is quite awesome, I was expecting a bit more of a display this year. The display budgets must have been slashed from last year. My favorite images are the ones here that show what we can obviously expect to see in the Adventure Packs for Dream State and Hidden Realm if/when they get released. I'm pumped for these figures! Daydream Oasis Adventure Pack Characters: Hidden Realm Adventure Pack Characters: I think they did a nice job with some of the non-traditional bases in making them look good and still be able to attach to the existing UB hubs... There was more, but I have to run! I'll try and post the rest later tonight... Labels: 2009, Adventure Pack, Dali, Dream State, Goya, Hidden Realm, Marshal, Oni, Paradox Green, Toy Fair, Toy Show
Just a quick heads-up... The limited edition (12,000 made) Target exclusive Dream State Very Rare 4 Pack with the foil card inside is now available on the Target.com website for the same $25.99 at in the stores. Here are a few images... :) Labels: Dream State, Drift, Exclusive Funkeys, Ptep, Purchasing Funkeys, Target, Vlurp, Waggs
U.B.Funkeys Funkiki Island Adventure Pack is Here!
I got my Funkiki Island Adventure Pack today from Target and ran it home on lunch for my son to play after school today. I took a quick snapshot with my cell along with my three Dream State UB hubs (regular, pink Toys R Us Exclusive, and black UK exclusive)... Gotta love the new stuff! I'm curious how my kids will enjoy the Adventure Pack... Labels: Dream State, Exclusive Funkeys, Funkiki Island, Jerry Pearl, Natives, Pineapple King, Purchasing Funkeys, Target
Snipe Found, more Sprocket and Lucky Too
WTGTIV posted this morning with the first image of Very Rare Snipe with VR Wasabi. They also got the Sprocket and Lucky 2-packs as in the same trip to Walmart. What a score for one night of shopping! Congrats and thanks for sharing the images... Labels: Dream State, Lucky, Snipe, Sprocket, Wasabi
Sprocket and Lucky on eBay
There were a few of the Sprocket and Lucky 2-packs on eBay a couple days ago, and now a fresh new round is up from a different seller, so they are definitely starting to show up. Here are a few images including a VR Sprocket! Labels: Dream State, ebay, Lucky, Sprocket
New Funkeys Multiplayer Starter with Sprocket
There's a new version on the Dream State starter on ebay with 5 Dream State Funkeys included called the Multiplayer Starter. The first four (that most of us already have) and Sprocket. Would have been nice to see at least a couple of the new Multiplayer Funkeys in it, but either way I'll be waiting for the singles. It's only being offered by one seller so far and they currently have 5 of them listed. Update: More sellers have them now, so I've changed the link accordingly... Check out the eBay listings here...Labels: Dream State, Drift, ebay, Ptep, Sprocket, Vlurp, Waggs
Round-up of Recent Funkeys News
Game Update:As most of you know by now there was a version 3.15 update released recently called "Promo". I didn't post about it right away because there weren't any obvious changes to the game. I confirmed over the weekend that the update was strictly back-end updates. On the plus side, some in the forum have reported that it seems to have fixed some glitches in their games for them. Pink Exclusive Dream State Starter:Over the weekend, Bryan1-2 from the forum reported a new color variation of the Dream State Starter. It has a pink version of the UB hub (not just plain pink like the Limited Too exclusive) and comes with Twinx and Waggs. Funk-E confirmed to me that it is a Toys R Us exclusive. On a side note, Funk-E also confirmed that the black hub version of the Dream State Starter is an exclusive for a UK based retailer called Argos. I've done some digging and they will not ship outside of the UK, so US collectors are going to have to resort to places like eBay as they start becoming more widely released. Other Images:First one up is this image of some early prototypes from Hidden Realm. We originally talked about it here but didn't post the image at the time... Second is an image that was pointed out by someone on the forum. It's the Speed Racer image from Target.com. I hadn't noticed, but the Racer X in the image looks completely different as if it was an early design... Last image for this post is a Funkiki Island image I had not seen before. Looking around last night, I found this on the UK version of the Radica website... More Funkeys Adventure Pack Information
We showed you pictures a few days ago of the coming Target Exclusive "Adventure Pack" containing figures of Jerry Pearl, the Pineapple King, a Funkiki Island Native and Sol. Funk-E, our Mattel insider, was kind enough to fill us in a few more details. There will be two Adventure Packs to begin with, the Funkiki Island one we've already seen as well as one for Funkeystown. The Funkeystown Adventure Pack will contain Mayor Sayso, Master Lox, and an undisclosed number of Henchmen. My guess is 2 though I'd love to see all 4 colors; blue, green, red, and purple. What Funk-E also confirmed was that all the figures are indeed playable being clear that they would have "different abilities then normal Funkeys though". I'm pretty excited to see what changes are to come from these Adventure Packs. We'll obviously have to see another decent sized game update before these hit the stores, so that's likely the next thing to be watching for. In the meantime, we have Dream State Wave 2 staring to land so get out there and find them! Woohoo!!! Dream State Wave 2 Starting to Show Up
There were two Tank figures on eBay earlier today, though last time I checked, one had already been nabbed with a "buy it now". I've also been getting contacted today by various people claiming to be seeing them at Target this weekend. Although you can't trust every report, the fact they are starting to show up on eBay confirms that they are starting to hit. The second wave consists of Berger, Dyer, Snipe, Tank, Lucky, and Sprocket. Booyah! Feel free to check for them on eBay by clicking on the images below... Update: Here are some images to help make this "official"... Labels: Berger, Daydream Oasis, Dream State, Dyer, ebay, Lucky, Nightmare Rift, Snipe, Sprocket, Tank
Official Site Updates: Dream State + Hidden Realm Teaser
The official site has been updated with Dream State content. There are also some Dream State images on the home page as well as a Hidden Realm teaser where the Dream State teaser use to be. Some image below highlight the new home page content... Labels: Dream State, Funkeys News, Hidden Realm, Images, Official UBFunkeys Site Update
The U.B.Funkeys Daydream Oasis Version 3.1 Update is Now Available
Signed on just a bit ago and downloaded the 3.1 update for Daydream Oasis. It was another big update, so if you don't have a good connection be prepared to wait a while. I'll look around and post more about it later... Labels: Daydream Oasis, Dream State, Funkeys News, Game Updates
New Black Dream State UB Hub in the UK
Funk-E had hinted ( in installment #2) that there would be another color variation of the Dream State UB hub , and it looks as though it has landed in the UK first! Darktwinx, a member on the forum ordered it from a UK based site called Argos, and sent me an image to post. You can order it here, but only if you live in the UK for now. Dream State 4-Packs Discovered
Last night at Toys R Us, I stumbled by a Dream State 4-Pack that I didn't even know existed. Of course they were all the common versions of each figure; Waggs, Vlurp, Ptep, and Drift. Heh, wouldn't THAT be a find to get a 4-Pack of all Rares or Very Rares. So for those who don't have any of them yet, this could be a great way to jump in to Dream State. It was $22.99 at TRU which isn't a great price for four singles, but at the ridiculous TRU exchange rate of $7.99 per single Funkey, it's a relative savings. Anyway, I left it there but I took a picture with my phone! Labels: Dream State, Drift, Ptep, Purchasing Funkeys, Vlurp, Waggs
Dream State Singles, Chat Packs, and Funkeys Speakers!
I finally found some of the new stuff myself this weekend! On Friday, I scored a pair of the Funkey Speakers that look like Scratch. I also saw the Lotus flash drive, but decided to wait on that until later. I'll be hooking them up at work tomorrow to see how they sound. I doubt they'll sound all that fantastic, but that's not the point of these babies and I don't exactly crank up the music at the office... :) Also, I found the four chat funkeys and well as two Dream State singles, Vlurp and Rare Ptep. Here's a shot of my Dream State Funkeys so far... They are finally getting a little easier to find. I've seen posts about them now showing at Target, Walmart, Meijers, and K-Mart... SDCC 2008 Funkeys Images - Hidden Realm
Images are showing up around the Internet of the new Funkeys Series: Hidden Realm, scheduled for 2009. As you can see in the image they are still awaiting licensing approval, so there's no guarantee we'll ever see them, at least not necessarily in the forms they're in right now. Some on the forum have already pointed out that the two of them that are on the side of the Dream State starter packaging look slightly different than the prototypes in these images below from the San Diego Comic-Con. After the three images of the Hidden Realm figures, there's a fun image of a henchman propaganda poster with some huge funkeys statues from Dream State in front of it...
