I was in a bit of a hurry when I submitted the last post and I glossed over some of the credit that should have been given. I mentioned Figures.com but failed to link to them, so please do go check out the rather vast pictorial they have up of the 2009 New York ToyFair... (I've also added a link in the last post)

I also failed to mention that although I had been watching the sites that typically post images form the shows, I didn't catch these myself. I noticed the report of these new images by Blogger Mom over on the ubfunkeysarefun Blogger site. She in turn credited obsessedfunkey for getting the report in first over on her blog.

This use to be THE only place to come get the latest Funkeys info (besides the official site), but we've got a lot of great blogs out there now to keep us all up to date! :) Tis a good thing...

All I can say is "it's about time!" The coverage of the NY ToyFair has been miserable this year so far. Hopefully more people have been taking pictures and still plan to post them.



As has been swirling through the various U.B.Funkeys Blogs, Figures.com has posted some images from the Radica booth including Funkeys and the new F.A.M.P.S figures. YOu can check them all out here...

I have to admit that while the stuff on display is quite awesome, I was expecting a bit more of a display this year. The display budgets must have been slashed from last year.

My favorite images are the ones here that show what we can obviously expect to see in the Adventure Packs for Dream State and Hidden Realm if/when they get released. I'm pumped for these figures!

I think they did a nice job with some of the non-traditional bases in making them look good and still be able to attach to the existing UB hubs...

As more 2008 New York Toy Fair images are making it to the Internet, we've continued to gather as many as we can that were taken of the U.B.Funkeys display. Added recently are images from MillionairePlayboy.com and Action-Figure.com. So far, the images from Action-Figure.com have been some of the best up-close shots of the new Speed Racer and Dream State series.

That's right, we have located our first Funkeys image out there posted on the Internet from the New York Toy Fair 2008! It was found on the New York Daily News site and was first reported in our Forum early this morning by "Roxxxxxxx", who seems to always have a leg up on all of us finding Funkeys news posted online...



What we do know about the Funkeys in this image is the following...

1) The two in blue packaging on the left are from the upcoming Speed Racer series due out this spring.

2)The rest shown are from the big Series three summer release, at least some of which will be called "Dream State".

3) As we've discussed a little in a previous post, the summer release will add new interactive functionality to the game.

4) The two-pack shown in front on the right says "1 Funkey, 1 MultiPlayer", so that seems to imply that at least some of the new functionality will be limited to specific characters which will please parents that are concerned about their children being able to interact with others they may not know.

5) Of all the characters in the summer release that we can confirm from this picture, we do know the name of at least two of them. Sprocket and Drift are seen in the starter pack, shown with a UB hub.

6) For the first time, we see a character that is not from the same mold as the rest of the Funkeys. It looks to be a parrot of some sort.
