if i were them i would have put a daydream
i've got a feeling we're all wrong about the 12000 thing. i think there are actually 48000 of them. i think there are 12000 of each character. the reason i have come to this conclusion is because i found two 799s at my local target this weekend, one had the ptep card, the other had vlurp. i don't think it was a misprint because the number was printed both on the cards and on the sticker on the package.
If you zoom in on the picture, it actually says 10,000, at least on the picture i was looking at.

Yes, many of the Target stores have marked them down since they did not sell very well. This was originally a post from January...
Mattel missed the boat a bit with this idea because so many people already had hunted for or purchased the VR figures off eBay. There wasn't anything "special" enough to convince many to buy them. An exclusive figure in each would have made them disappear from Target and reappear on eBay in a heartbeat.
