Windows 7 64 bit Driver On The Way?

After my post yesterday, I received a message from a visitor to the site that included the following...

"Talked on the phone to a rep at Mattel Sat (26) and he assured me that they were actively working on an update for the Win 7 problem. I told him that some of the forums about Funkeys are mentioning that no updates are forthcoming and he told me those are false rumors. The projected release for the update is early Jan. (Which probably means Feb/Mar in programmer talk!)"

This is great news for those who have 64 bit Windows 7 machines!

Now to clarify, my last post in no way said that the drivers would NOT be made and my intent was not to start any rumors. I simply pointed to how long it took to get a Vista 64 bit driver. I'm glad to see that Mattel is still actively supporting U.B.Funkeys. If anything, this is encouraging to those of us who are still hoping for a resurgence of Funkeys in 2010! :)

Thanks to all those who have contacted up on this subject...

I just got off the phone with support. Asked them if they could tell me about any potential patches. The rep said that right now they are told to tell us to check the website or call support occasionally. Nothing positive or negative.

Well Im pretty happy with my Windows Vista. But... I realize that people are stopping to play UBFunkeys. I, on the otherhand, keep on playing and I am into it better than before! My collection is awesome!!! :) But Augie you have like 5000 funkeys lol. And you have 2 dots. I have one. :D Atleast I got one! And I have the Taejo... I realized (again) when you get a funkey you really want, it becomes boring after a week. But I am still very happy. FunkeyFever closed last night and I got to order 3 funkeys just in time: Rare Stitch, Rare Xener, and VR Cannonball Taylor. And Augie, some people now have Taejo so I have the taejo sprite on my website. Like This doesnt exist: http://ubfunkeys.thespeakeasy.com/files/phpBB3/images/smilies/Taejo.gif

Well it does but it isnt an ACTUAL funkster head. I have an image and I'll post it here: http://www.funkeyplanet.com/resources/taejo.png

So yea. Pretty long comment. Sorry, Im just updating you about everything you already know xD

See you around Augie! You are a main reason a lot of people still like UB Funkeys. You give people a lot of hope. :)

Funny I called support about not being able to upgrade to version 5 (paradox green) and I was told that it was not going to be supported by windows 7. I did get ver 4.8 loaded onto my new Windows 7pc

Windows 7 64 bit version? Does it work. I have tried the 4.8 software. the 64bit patch, the UB Hub Patch. The driver will not load for the "Mega Byte" device. Do the 64 bit patches only work in Vista? Has anyone with Windows 7 64 bit been able to get this to work for their child?

Download XP Mode from Microsoft and install it as per Microsoft's instructions. Once installed (3 parts) open the XP mode window and install the UB Funkeys from the CD. Follow instructions as usual.

In this mode you have to tell XP mode to attch to a USB device - in the menu bar for the program there is a header "USB" with a drop down box - select the MEGABYTE hub and click Attach....voila it will load no problem....
